Natural Hair Basics!!!
I know the tendency is to buy everything that has "Natural" stamped on it when you first go natural. I did it, and I know it's an addiction I will never get over! (Sigh!) But if you can, at least have these basic natural hair care items in your overcrowded bathroom cabinet!
I recommend everyone try this night-time regimen:
**Extra Virgin Olive oil - you can use your local supermarket to pick up this. If you can, get the biggest bottle for the cheapest price.
**Jojoba Oil - you can use "Dessert Essence" or "Now Foods" that can be found in GNC.
**Almond Oil (from GNC also)
**Amla Oil (You can order from Amazon.com or a Middle Eastern spice store - if you have a large Middle Eastern community in your area.)
**Argan Oil (Or Moroccan Oil which is a bit expensive, but great for your hair, face and skin. If you do purchase this, use a brand with only Argan oil as the ingredient like "Eden Allure".)
**A few drops of Tea Tree Oil (this acts as an anti-bacterial and you must dilute it with the oils above. Use a few drops. This can be purchased in GNC, I use the Now Foods Brand.)
Place in a bottle with a narrow spout (for amount control).
If you have a 12 oz bottle, 9oz with the olive oil, jojoba and almond oils (3 oz each). Put an 1 oz of the Amla oil, 1 oz of the argan oil and 1/2 oz of the tea tree oil.
Place a few drops on different areas on your scalp and sparingly over entire hair (focus on your ends). Massage scalp - especially focus on problem areas like your sides (temple area) and hair line (if it's receding).
You should not put so much that you'll leave a grease spot on your pillow!! It's not Soul Glo! :-)
